I grew my own hops for the first time last year. It’s addictive! Now I think I’ll till up the rest of the yard…
thnx!
I have posted a few times about hops. I’ve grown them two years in a row now, with varying levels of success (downy mildew took them out last year…that and lackadaisical watering). Here’s a link that might be helpful on growing hops in containers: http://www.byo.com/component/resource/article/1926-growing-hops-in-containers
The major concern on hops is that, similar to chocolate, they are poisonous to dogs. Remember, “dose makes the poison (or potion)”; it’s probably okay to give a dog some of your beer but straight hops are a no-no.
Cheers,
Norm
I didn’t know they were poisonous to dogs. Thanks for the links!
