“To a beer hunter,”says Michael Jackson in this episode, “America’s Northwest beckons like a new frontier.”

The Dutch sub-titling adds a certain je ne sais quoi.

Good news for backpackers: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in cans

This is certainly great news for anyone who needs to avoid glass bottles, such as around the swimming pool. It’s great news for anyone who wants to take good beer with them without the hassle of heavy and fragile bottles. Sierra Nevada says they will be shipping these within two weeks. We should see Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on the shelves by the end of the month.  I know what I’m taking with me on my next backpack trip in the Sierra Nevada range.

Sierra Nevada has announced their pale ale will be available in cans.

Brewbakers Review

Stopped for lunch yesterday at Brewbakers Brewing Company and Restaurant in Visalia, California at 219 E. Main St. near Court Street. My wife and I split their basic burger (what’s better than a burger and a beer?) and added some avocado. It’s a decent burger with fries. The IPA (7.2% ABV) is unfiltered and has hints of citrus (our server told us the brewer uses Cascade hops and grapefruit).

The ambiance is fine and they have an outdoor patio upstairs. Parking in the city lot is easy and free (though after 5pm the nearby hotel has a number of the spaces reserved).

It’s well worth getting off Hwy 99 (6.5 miles east of 99). I give it 4 out of 5 bottles.

Cheers.
